August 29, 2010--Announcements **RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE- Sept 7, 3:00 til 7:00 Please come out and give blood. Extra staff will be on hand to prevent a long wait. **SUNDAY FUNDAY- Sept 12, 11:00 (ONE SERVICE ONLY) - Join with the entire Wycliffe Family at 11:00am on September 12 as we celebrate the start of the fall season with those simple words of Jesus that changed the world – “Follow Me.” The service will be filled with scripture, poetry, reflections, congregational hymns, and special music by Another Day Dawning and the Chancel Choir. Be there for this inspirational hour and bring a friend – bring two friends!
- After the service we'll have a meal, kid's activities, clown, face painting, etc, **ROCK 2 BACH- Sept 18, 3:00 - Free Outdoor Concert on the Wycliffe lawn. Our professional performers will play and sing tunes that will cover a broad spectrum of musical tastes. Rock, Folk, Easy listening, Christian, Gospel, Classical, Broadway and Patriotic music will all be performed by professional musicians who have donated their time and talents to serve both the Wycliffe community and our neighbors and friends. Some of these performers have played all over the country and even Europe. - Vendors will be providing food for purchase, there will be kids activities, this will be rain or shine (to be held indoors in case of rain). **ATTENTION ALL COLLEGE STUDENTS/ PARENTS

We will kick off our new contemporary style worship service. We also have some exciting events planned to help kick start our revitalization. Please come to Another Day Dawning's open rehearsal every Thursday night from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. as we prepare for the Contemporary service. Please contact Greg Roy at greg_roy_1963@hotmail.com or 650-1575 if you have any questions. **Visual Projection System We have discovered the need for an update to our visual projection system at Wycliffe. There are many instances in which we have the need for visual aids during music presentations, sermons, and special events. We would like to purchase a system that will blend in with the architecture of the sanctuary and can be seen by everyone. One important aspect in the system we are choosing is to make it discreet and easily hidden when not in use. The approximate cost for this system installation will be $20,000. We have recently received a very generous gift of $5000 to be used toward this project. Now we are opening up the opportunity for the congregation to assist in the purchase of the new visual projection system. If you wish to donate toward this purchase, you may contact Rev Young, Jim Haynie, or send a check to the church specifying that it be used toward the visual projection system. We will not make the purchase until it is fully funded." |
