A Fall Sermon Series
Praising God the Maker
As a new season unfolds, Wycliffe's Sunday worship will feature a new sermon series on creation: "Praising God the Maker." Join us Sundays at 10:00am as we celebrate the gifts around us.
Nursery is provided for newborns through 3s, with Sunday School for Pre-K4s through 5th grade while parents are in worship. Middle School Sunday School meets immediately after worship. Adult Sunday School is from 9:00-9:50am (and nursery is available).
Flowers for Sunday Worship
Flower Sign-Up
Share the celebration of a birthday, anniversary or other special day, or honor the memory of a loved one by donating Sunday's sanctuary flowers.
Select your date, include the details you'd like in the worship guide and after the service concludes that day you're welcome to take the flowers home to enjoy, or designate them to be taken to an ill or homebound church member.
The cost is $55 and you can drop a check in the Sunday basket (indicate 'flowers' in the memo line) or pay through the "Give" link at the top of the webpage.

Sunday School Teachers
We have the perfect opportunity for you to make a difference this fall! Join the merry band of Sunday School teachers who help our children learn about God's love. Easy training & all curriculum & materials are provided. You just bring the love!
Our goal is to have sufficient volunteer numbers so that one only teaches twice a year. Questions? - or to volunteer? - See Christian Education Elders Joan Horton or Stephanie Harron.

Kick-start the weekend with great food & fellowship at Sunrise Cafe. No reservations are necessary and all men are welcome (and welcome to bring a friend). Hope to see YOU there!

It wouldn't be Rally Day without a great lunch from the Fellowship team and this one celebrates everyone's favorite school cafeteria menu! Enjoy the day, the menu, and the 'old school photos' video during the meal.

It's Almost Time!
Fall Officially Begins!
The fall season officially begins at Wycliffe on Sunday, September 13 with all Sunday School classes back in swing AND a special fellowship luncheon following worship with "lunchroom favorites" like Sloppy Joes and Mac & Cheese accompanied by a "Memory Lane" video of YOUR old school pictures, plus a water slide & snow cones for the kids!

Ladies' Lunch Out
You know the fall season is underway when it's time for Ladies' Lunch Out! - always great food & a chance to make a new friend or catch up with an old one.
This month we'll visit Wang Jiang Lou on First Colonial for delicious Chinese cuisine. (To give the restaurant a heads-up, do let Robin LaVigne or Amelia Moore know if you can attend, or call the office at 757.496.2620.)
For those who have suffered loss
Grief Support Group
There's no need to grieve alone. All are welcomed to Wycliffe's grief support group. Church membership, either at Wycliffe or anywhere, is not required to spend some time with those who understand.

Youth Service Project
Ready Bag Rally
Wycliffe Youth (and friends) are invited to join others from the area at Norfolk's Scope to pack "ready bags" for children battling cancer throughout the USA.
Meet at the church to leave at 5:00p. Advance reservations are required & the cost is $10 per person. Questions? See Rev. Gilliam or Christian Ed elder Stephanie Harron.
Celebrating America's 250th anniversary
USAF Langley Winds
Enjoy an evening of great music at Wycliffe with the 10-member Langley Winds in a concert remembering and celebrating the great music of America!
The concert is free and doors open at 6:45pm. Bring a friend!

Women's Bible Study
Beginning September 24, enjoy great fellowship with lots to learn as Pastor Gilliam leads the Women's Fall Bible Study each Thursday evening at 7:00pm. The focus is the Old Testament book of "Joshua," and the story of Israel's leader after the death of Moses. (and a great prep for the November trip to see the play "Joshua" at the PA's Sight & Sound Theater!)

Kids' Club
Enjoy a break from the routine and drop the kiddos at Wycliffe for dinner & activities while you enjoy some free time or your own dinner out!

Another clear sign of fall - Ladies' Bunco Night! All are welcome to a delightful evening of fun and great refreshments mixed with a wee bit of competition!
Sight & Sound Theater
Road Trip!
It may be tough to believe, but fall is just around the corner which means another trip to "Sight & Sound Theater" (Lancaster PA) for a great production, delicious food & shopping!
Cost (based on double occupancy - King Room) $600 per person including lodging & taxes for 3 nights, your 'Sight & Sound' ticket, 2 group dinners, and a complimentary breakfast each morning. REGISTRATION DUE Sept 1.
